Tell us about your childhood and where you grew up

Internationally; I lived in five countries and attended thirteen schools across Australia, Germany, France, the UK, and Spain. It was a happy childhood that shaped my career in communications.

How did you get started as an entrepreneur?

I quit my job in 2017 when I was pregnant after a meltdown about work led me to throw a mini spring roll at my alarmed husband (he was of course, unharmed) and sprint out of the restaurant toward home. Clearly, I was at breaking point. I built my own company, determined to help businesses build better communications strategies than I’d seen before – now, six years later, I am relaunching my business to offer this service to SMEs in financial services, handling media relations, crisis communications, events management, project management, and content marketing consultancy.

What is one business lesson you would tell a startup founder?

Don’t let the fear of what people might think to hold you back. Ask for that testimonial, post that LinkedIn content, perfect your elevator pitch, again and again, push yourself out of your comfort zone and get comfy being uncomfortable. That’s where the real progress happens.
