Tell us about your childhood and where you grew up
I had an active and enjoyable childhood, filled with a range of extracurricular activities and academic success. From a young age, I was involved in sports such as soccer and baseball and also enjoyed participating in music and art classes. In school, I consistently excelled in my studies, often finishing at the top of my class. Outside of the classroom, I was an active member of various clubs and organizations, including the school’s debate team and volunteer group. In my free time, I loved to spend time outdoors, going on hikes and bike rides with my friends and family. Overall, my childhood was filled with fun, activity, and a strong commitment to both my personal and academic development.
How did you get started as an entrepreneur?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My uncle Ralph was the most successful and I remember him giving me $20 bills when I was 6 years old. I always looked up to my uncle, who was a self-made millionaire. His success inspired me to start my own business. When I was 19 years old and out of high school, I invented a product called Dip Tops. This was a device that turned a beverage can into a spill-resistant spittoon. After doing nationwide promotions with one of the top Fortune 500 companies — Altria, I created multiple online eCommerce businesses. This includes Checkstand Program, which helps other entrepreneurs get their products into stores. After this, in 2014, I created one of the first online CBD companies. There were a total of 3 online CBD companies when Pure CBD Now was launched.
What is one business lesson you would tell a startup founder?
Do your research and check trends before starting your business. Find a niche that has the potential to become big in the near future. Trust your instincts.
